Hey everyone, I’ve been hearing a lot of worries about digital marketing agencies becoming outdated. I’m freelancing and don’t plan to grow too much right now, but I want to stay up to date. I see many people criticizing agencies for just using templates to create and run ads, which doesn’t really help anyone. I’m finding some good points in this, but I also see that there’s a learning curve with things like Google and Meta ads, which a lot of business owners might not want to tackle. If smaller companies can just use AI, how are they planning to run their ads with it? Has anyone found ways to successfully include these new tools in their business model?
Also, what are some forums or podcasts that focus on digital marketing? I’m looking for places where real conversations about current changes in the industry are happening.
I can promise you that AI won’t replace digital marketing. It’s just going to make it better. Business owners still don’t have enough time to do it themselves.

Saying it won’t replace it seems short-sighted. Right now, it can’t, but with how fast it’s progressing, it could definitely be trained to do this. There’s so much money and effort going into making this happen.
I have some concerns about AI for a few reasons, but saying it will never happen is a stretch. With so much power and investment involved, it seems inevitable.

I agree
I agree, but we need to be more productive and faster because new AI tools might take our jobs if we don’t keep up.
Take a stroll around your city. Look at how many businesses there are. They’re all connected, even some without social media, and you can help them connect with more local folks online. That’s just one way. AI can be helpful if you use it creatively. You don’t want to lose your skills in ten years.
AI is a way to grow your work. Once you learn to set up custom instructions and make proper prompts, you can get client work done easily. You might just become an editor then. I gave up on being a freelance digital marketer back in 2016, but after figuring out how to set custom instructions and prompt design, I started using AI to improve marketing materials and turned them into case studies for my content. Now clients are seeking me out. Use AI wisely and don’t let it use you.

So great to hear! I’m excited to learn more, especially after seeing everyone’s input here. I already appreciate what AI is doing in various fields. Thanks for sharing!
I run an automation agency that helps business owners set up automation and AI tools to stay ahead. We also have an online community for business owners using these tools. Feel free to send me a message with any questions, or check out the new forum I started posting in.
