Is AI really going to take over digital marketing

I hear this a lot about AI taking over not just digital marketing but many jobs too. But is this true? I really don’t believe that. What’s your take on this and what do you think the future of marketing looks like

No way, AI won’t take over digital marketing. We’ll just see more AI tools that help out. If you’re smart, you’re probably already using some of them.

AI is great at copying trends but not very good at being original. Standing out with fresh ideas among a world of lazy AI content will still be valuable, at least for now.

Exactly. AI will assist marketers and people overall.

@Indigo
AI will do for marketers what Photoshop did for graphic designers.

I disagree. AI isn’t just a tool for marketers; it will actually become a marketer itself.

I’d say AI is on par with inventions like the steam engine, electricity, or the internet. It enables other technologies.

Good point. But for every calculator, there are many evolutions like floppy disks to CDs to USBs to cloud storage.

Wow, great insight

AI helped me increase my prices by 25% because I can work much faster.

It writes HTML codes for my websites and creates strategic marketing plans that I carry out. It also assists with client acquisition since I run a marketing agency.

So will it replace us? Not at all. It’s a huge help.

@Eli
What AI tools do you use for these tasks? Do you run a boutique agency or a bigger one?

I just use ChatGPT. A small agency :).

Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Nice marketing!

What AI tool do you use?

I’m referring to ChatGPT but I also made my own Excel tool that I’m going to release. If you want free access, just PM me.

I messaged you, thank you!

Maybe in about 100 years from now.

This is one of my favorite discussions. I often ponder the future. But like others said, who knows what will happen.

I consider past experiences.

Take for example photography or telecommunications. There are still photographers today who use digital cameras, and in the future, they might just use AI. There will be winners and losers. Perhaps fewer cameras will sell or fewer models will be needed, but photography will still exist. The smartphone was a major disruption, yet photography continues.

Another favorite example is the car. When Henry Ford was asked about automobiles, he said, “If I had asked people what they wanted, they’d have said bigger, stronger horses.” This shows how hard it is to predict how much a new product can disrupt the world, yet people still travel and exist. Let’s hope that remains the case and we continue to have work.

Honestly, AI is really shaking things up in the job market. I’ve gone to sessions and caught discussions with Steven Bartlett and Yuval Noah Harari, and it’s clear that while AI has great potential, it can also pose challenges if not handled wisely.

Across sectors like healthcare, marketing, and logistics, AI is causing disruptions. AI will likely replace roles centered around repetitive tasks. Learning new skills has never been more important.

In digital marketing, AI is changing how we create content, design images, and analyze data. Since tools like ChatGPT and Gemini came out, there’s been a rise in prompt engineer jobs and content roles are shifting to focus more on research than just writing. Major brands like Baskin Robbins, Wrogn, and Nivea have even used AI-generated visuals for ads, saving time and money.

Not sure if I can share links here, but I’d be happy to share resources that explore AI’s current impact and future.
