Appealing to emotion enough it’s linked to the product/service. Think about how many small businesses make bank off Trump merch.
Data interpretation, copywriting, trend analysis.
The way I see it, strong creative and technical skills get you execution roles; strong analytical and people skills get you management roles. Kind of depends on what you want, is what I’m saying–there’re valuable skills in both.
In either case, specific domain expertise (as in the industry or niche) seems pretty underrated. Everybody loves a self-sufficient content marketer or a manager who understands the market they’re in as well as the people they’re catering to.
Most of the comments about are true.

If you work in a company where you have to do everything then not sure if you are in the right company.
Honestly, I’d just focus on growing your network. Volunteer with an organization. Participate in industry events. Grow your LinkedIn connections. I think all marketers should manage their own brand be it through a physical product, writing, or selling their services. This is key to staying current across all marketing disciplines.

What we are seeing in the industry is that core in-house marketing teams are getting smaller and smaller. Companies are looking for people that are multi-skilled that can run the show and then plug in freelancers and agencies to fill gaps where need be. To boost your marketing skills and make yourself more attractive to employers, focus on these key areas: learn digital marketing (SEO, PPC, email marketing), improve your data analysis skills using tools like Google Analytics, get into social media management and content marketing, acquire basic graphic design abilities, and understand marketing automation tools. Additionally, enhance your project management skills to better coordinate campaigns.
I think a Google search is enough for this most cliched question.
