The disrespect in AI marketing

100% agree. We use ClickUp to do our work, not to play games.

If the software wants us to take it seriously, it should treat us with respect.

Have you checked their Instagram? They have a page called clickupcomedy with skits that are just lame boomer memes. It’s frustrating enough that my organization forced us to use this underwhelming product, but flaunting their lack of support makes it worse.

@Ren
Ew.

This kind of corporate culture starts at the top. I’m curious, if you could choose any other solution, what would it be?

WorkOtter. Capacity management is crucial for us.

I actually liked Smartsheet, which seems more stable. ClickUp has more features, but nobody in my company uses them. The consensus is that it’s a hassle and really confusing. Some long-term employees have even quit because we keep getting pushed to use this platform.

@Ren
I’m not a huge ClickUp fan either. It’s not perfect, but quitting over it seems odd and unprofessional. They could easily use any PM tool they want and connect it through the API to avoid using ClickUp’s features. We use it a lot and find it helpful—it’s been smoother than Zoho, Jira, Monday, Asana, Trello, and others we’ve tried, but it really depends on the work being done.

@Dax
Yeah, there are plenty of reasons to leave, but this was the last straw. Our operations don’t really suit a project management setup, and it was just thrown at us with no guidance aside from constant complaints if you weren’t using it correctly.

@Ren
I regret paying this company every time I see their Instagram posts.

Glad to see you’re addressing this. Why not make it a ClickApp that we can turn off for everyone? That has been done for many other features!

I get your point and respect it. I’m curious why I haven’t seen any of these ads. Is it because I’m already a customer of the AI product?

Either they have a careless rep running upsell marketing, or they’re just needing the extra revenue.

Hey, u/mrbrownjeremy! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the ClickUp AI promotional messages. I’ve passed this feedback to the product marketing team to help improve the experience.

In the meantime, we can remove you from AI-related nudges and promotions. If you could DM me your email or fill out this form to opt out of the AI promotions, I’ll get them to help you with that! I’m also reaching out via DM to get your details!

Edit: I can’t send a chat request, but if you want me to opt your Workspace out of the promos, just DM me, and I’d be happy to assist!

@Drew
It shouldn’t require a form - users should have control over it.

I agree!

Hey, u/winchellmfg and u/Rifadm! I’ve shared your feedback with the team in charge. In the meantime, if you need help opting out of the promos, just let me know!

@Drew
It’s too late for that. I’m already moving to another platform and will cancel ClickUp soon. They won’t miss me as I’m just a small account, but I’m sure I’m not alone. My reason for switching, aside from maybe a slightly better fit, is mainly the constant AI-related prompts with no option to turn off the nonsense.
