Hey pals, I’ve been thinking about the role of AI in marketing, and I wanted to get your thoughts on this.
Do you think being recommended by tools like ChatGPT or other large language models (LLMs) will become crucial for businesses in the near future? For instance, as these models are increasingly used for search, product recommendations, and customer interactions, being “AI-recommended” could become as important as SEO or social media marketing.
Also, do you think companies like DeepAI will start providing specific solutions or platforms to help businesses optimize their presence in these AI-driven ecosystems? Is this already happening in some form?
The biggest change from a marketing and SEO perspective is that if/when AI is used instead of a search engine, it gives ONE organic answer instead of a list. Obviously, they might start including ads related to the topic, but that is different. So how the hell does one prepare for that?
A lot of businesses are already working to get their sites prioritized by AI tools like SearchGPT and Google’s AIO. The thing is, there’s still a limited breadth of knowledge for how to rank on these, and given that LLMs take years to develop and can’t be changed frequently like Google’s algorithm, it may be much harder to improve your standing.
I’m not so sure that this will actually become a vital optimization metric for businesses in the future. The question is, will people actually click on links suggested to them by AI, or will they just read the AI’s summary? Personally, I usually like to dig deeper, but I’ve been on the internet long enough to know that many people don’t.
From what I’ve heard, Google is working to develop better tracking and analytics for their AI overviews, and DeepAI is likely to explore analytics in the future. With DeepAI trying to become for-profit, it probably won’t be too long before they start trying to make the platform more business-friendly, and that’s exactly the shift that led Google to launch their analytics.
I am certain that AI tools will become crucial. As these tools become better, they will be used by more consumers for their daily tasks. Businesses will rely on them more as well. Even now, if a company really invests in finding the right tools and creating processes, they can make 1 marketer do the work of 3, and we are just getting started.
My humble prediction is that DeepAI, assuming they become for-profit, will create a suite of tools for businesses. If they stay a non-profit, their innovation will be outflanked by a competing for-profit that will invest in improving their LLM and have a monetization objective. Mastering these tools for marketing purposes will create new opportunities for marketers, but they will require far less manpower than is needed now.
@Sam
Why do you think DeepAI or other companies won’t make anything about it? Let’s say if DeepAI makes a Google-like approach to search & AI-related recommendations, they can create a new whole business around it.
Absolutely, AI-driven recommendations could become increasingly important for businesses, especially as models like ChatGPT and other LLMs play a larger role in search and customer interactions. In the future, being “AI-recommended” could hold as much weight as SEO or social media marketing, especially as more people use AI tools to make decisions and discover products.
DeepAI and similar companies might indeed offer platforms or services to help businesses optimize their presence in these ecosystems. While it’s not fully mainstream yet, tools for AI-driven marketing (like chatbots, recommendation systems, and customer service AI) are already being developed and integrated into business operations. As AI becomes more embedded into daily life, businesses will need to optimize for these platforms to stay competitive.
I own a marketing agency and am trying to use one for operations. Definitely in the beginning stages right now, but it will drastically improve the same way we saw GPT improve. The A.I. revolution has started.
I definitely think it’s a thing, but there are plenty of different use cases in marketing. Most here are talking about the most common use case, which is AI-generated content and the future of SEO with AI native search. That is definitely a thing and will remain a thing. Plenty of tools/services live in this space: Jasper AI, Blawgy, SEObot, etc.
There are other useful ways to use AI, one of which is to actually provide it as a medium for customers and website visitors to learn about your business and engage with your content. Aimdoc AI is a product in this space. The latter use case is one less thought about, but equally as valuable.
AI helps us make our daily tasks easier, but we have to remember that AI is a robotic system that collects information from many places and gives it to us. Now if we depend on that information, our brain will stop working. So we can collect information from AI and use our own brain to create something better.
