I came across a fascinating LinkedIn post inviting users to share if they’re utilizing ChatGPT or a custom GPT in their work. It got me thinking about how we marketers are leveraging AI tools for our marketing tasks.
I’ll kick things off: As a junior content marketer, I use ChatGPT to help spark my creative process and draft outlines for the topics I’m writing about. Although the first draft isn’t always perfect, the custom instructions I’ve set up assist in generating a decent starting point for my work.
Additionally, I’ve created a few custom GPTs where I’ve implemented brand guidelines and knowledge bases to enhance the quality of my output.
How about you? I’m genuinely curious to learn how fellow marketers are employing AI tools or GPTs so we can all benefit from each other’s experiences.
And if you believe that AI-generated content pales in comparison to human-created content, I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts on that too!
The comments so far highlight the acceleration of the content process. We also maintain an inventory of ready prompts and have developed several GPTs. However, I’ve noticed that the additional knowledge base isn’t utilized as much as I’d prefer. Do you find this too?
I believe AI-generated content often falls short of quality writing, mainly because it can mix in subpar content and produce cliched phrases. But maybe we’re approaching it incorrectly.
@Bryce
I experience similar challenges. Some say it’s about how we prompt the GPT, but despite trying different approaches, it can be difficult to achieve the desired output. What’s your perspective based on your experiences?
Thanks for sharing! I’d love to know more about why your team finds ChatGPT lacks in marketing, or what specific functions they rely on from HubSpot.
It’s not that the tool is ineffective; rather, they’re impressed by the results. The feedback I’ve received is that many outputs sound too similar and typical of other companies. For instance, some content ideas generated by ChatGPT were found to be already existing blog posts, which were longer and superior.
Complaints usually focus on differentiation and tone of voice.
Recently, we ran an ad campaign for a security conference. The ChatGPT-generated headlines sounded like outdated marketing from the 90s, and the sales team found them disappointing, leading to a quick end to that approach.
As a marketer at ZenBasket, we’ve integrated AI tools like ChatGPT to optimize content creation, personalize product recommendations, and power chatbots for immediate customer support. These tools assist us in drafting content, analyzing data for insights, and predicting future trends, thus enhancing our marketing strategy. While AI streamlines efficiency, we value human creativity and utilize AI as a complement to our expertise.
I’m developing an app for content operations powered by AI. If you’re open to providing continuous feedback and ideas on features that would empower content creators, I could offer free unlimited access short-term and substantial discounts long-term if you find value in the app.
Currently, the app includes features for brainstorming ideas with GPT, condensing long documents and videos into concise content, and customizable agents. We have several products underway, including a Chrome extension for web clipping, AI-driven research, personal knowledge management, and an all-encompassing creator module.
Feel free to DM me if you’re interested in joining the founders’ circle program.
AI tools and GPTs can be leveraged in marketing to create content, personalize campaigns, analyze data insights, automate tasks such as chatbots and customer support, and optimize SEO strategies. These applications improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and yield better marketing results.
In my case, AI has saved me countless hours on social media and YouTube tasks.
Previously, I would take notes by hand, rewatching long podcast episodes at least twice to determine how many short clips and reels I could produce. (Not to mention the pressure of crafting titles and thumbnail texts.)
Now with ChatGPT, I can upload transcripts and tweak prompts to generate shorter clips and use those transcripts for catchy titles.
This has significantly reduced the workload since I was the only marketer in our team.
